  Negative. Odd slightly confrontational customer service. NB. Sign in toilet warns of 'very hot water'. I normally take this as meaning 'you can wash your hands but be careful' not 'use the cold tap or you will need a skin graft'. Their response? "The sign says it's hot". Positive. Cream tea for 5.50, albeit with slighty stodgy, microwaved scone. Had a high chair.

  May even be decent... If the awful people running the place can be bothered to serve you. We entered when there was still a big "come in, we're open" sign on the window. Banners for local Cornish-produced ice cream lured us in. After entry, staff avoided us for as long as they could.
  
  When we finally got one lady's attention to ask for ice cream, she went away to deliberate with her colleague, only to come back and say they couldn't serve us because they were clearing up.
  
  Awful people. Shouldn't have a license to operate.

  Bumbles is one of those places that we return to every year. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food is really good value. Tom likes the crab salad and afternoon tea, I love the cream tea, (jam first). Cool music, close to the beach and the Tate gallery. This is very popular at lunch time so you may have to wait a few minutes for a table but its worth it.
